Paralyzed Man Dances With Wife

On Friday March 30th this was seen on ABC’s Good Morning America.  I wanted to share it here so many who haven’t seen it could view it and know about this remarkable, life changing technology.

Janne Kouri, a young former college football player, who had been injured in a diving accident, has defied the medical doctors’ predictions of never walking again.

Dr. Susan Harkema (PhD) has developed a program that has taken this paralyzed young man and allowed him to dance with his wife.  You will want to watch this video.

Dr. Susan Harkema is my husband’s daughter and is world-renowned for her accomplishments in spinal cord injury research.  Her mentor when she studied at UCLA for her doctorate was Dr. Reggie Edgerton, who is seen in this video.  For more detailed information you could Google either of them.

Perhaps you know someone who may need to know about this work.  Please pass it along.  I’m hoping this information can change someone’s life like it has the life of Janne Kouri and a number of other people.

And now you know about NextStep, if you didn’t already.  I don’t know too much about this organization, but I’m sure you can find lots of information by searching online.

I just created a new category of posts for this blog:  Just Remarkable and Worth Seeing.  As far as I’m concerned, this information is important at any age, not just sixty something!
