Three Treasures

Jim Rohn was such a treasure.  He’s been gone for almost two years now, and because he created a legacy, his work lives on through people who treasure it for the wealth of knowledge it is.  His work is timeless.

Here is what Jim Rohn had to say about the Three Treasures to leave behind.

First:  Your pictures.  Take lots of pictures always.  It will be a treasure to your family in the future.  (On a personal note, I observed that as I celebrated my sister’s 50th wedding anniversary and how precious the pictures were of their life.)

Second:  Your library.  According to Jim Rohn’s own words…

This is the library that taught you, that instructed you, that helped you defend your ideals. It helped you develop a philosophy. It helped you become wealthy, powerful, healthy, sophisticated, and unique. It may have helped you conquer some disease. It may have helped you conquer poverty. It may have caused you to walk away from the ghetto. Your library—the books that instructed you, fed your mind and fed your soul—is one of the greatest gifts you can leave behind.

Third:  Your journals.  This is probably the most important because it records the ideas you have picked up, the information you have gathered.  It shows that you were a student of your own life, your own future and your own destiny.

What is your favorite Jim Rohn-ism?  I enjoyed everything I have ever heard from this man.  Although I had never seen him at a live event, I totally resonated with what he had to say.

Are you keeping a journal?
