Where’s Tiger Woods? He certainly isn’t on the golf course when we’ve seen him play recently.
This weekend, The PGA Championship tournament is being played. Based on my schedule I’ve been able to watch much of this event, starting on Thursday the first day of it.
Tiger Woods played horribly both of the first two days, and therefore didn’t make the cut. During each of the press interviews after his respective rounds, he sounded totally perplexed about his results. He indicated that he is back to health after some physical challenges of the past few months. He couldn’t seem to understand what it could be.
Personally, I have always admired Tiger and the unique way he handled himself on the course. And probably not unlike others, I thought he had the same integrity in his personal life.
Without rehashing the horrible mess he’s gotten himself into on a personal level, isn’t it obvious that this is why Tiger is not on the course, not playing his game and basically not the Tiger Woods he was before November 2009?
As I was watching Tiger play on Friday the thought crossed my mind that if someone had been in a coma for a couple of years and then was watching Tiger Woods play golf this past week, they would not believe it. It’s almost like some bad movie, where the star wakes up from a bad dream and is back to how they were before. Except this is real and Tiger has messed up badly in his life.
One of the announcers said on Saturday, during the many hours of banter they need to do, that maybe Tiger needs to find a Zen spot and find himself again. I couldn’t agree more.
If you do have an opinion, what do you think about all of this?
