By now you’ve probably heard the acronym for fear. If you haven’t, here it is: false-evidence-appearing-real. For this post, I’m referring to fear of something that is preventing you from achieving what you want.
If fear is not real and only appears to be real, why are we so afraid of stuff? And how are we supposed to conquer our fears?
We all have fears of one type or other. Some people absorb themselves in their fears and some people deny what they fear. I’d say neither way is a good way to deal with your fears.
Perhaps learning, if you don’t already know this, that any obstacle that comes your way and gets between you and your goal, is not bad or good. It just is. It is just something we need to deal with and move beyond.
Recently I heard a quote by Zig Zigler: ‘When obstacles arise, you need to change your direction to reach your goal. You don’t change your decision to get there.’
Not too long ago, I experienced the kind of feeling that I’m writing about here. Wow! Interesting that I was inspired just now to create this post. Love the Zig quote.
So, how do you conquer your fear? Are you changing direction to reach your goal? Would love to hear from you.
